Up and At ‘Em!

Hello Hello!

Hope your Tuesday is going (or went!) well!

Mine started off bright and early with a 5 Mile training run… at 6am. (Which may as well be 4am because anything before 8am is considered sleeping time for this girl.

I switched up my route this morning and the miles seemed to fly by…. until the massive hill the last .25 miles. (Yes even after several years of living in SF the terrain (and all of the hills) can still take you by massive surprise!)

I’m not kidding when I say I ran up the hill at a 10:00/pace, and it took me a good 4 minutes to get up the entire darn thing. My legs were screaming and I was about to give up.

And then I got to the top. And magically my legs felt light as a feather. And I was ridiculously happy I made it.

I guess training on SF hills has it’s benefits?

The Stats:

My legs felt like lead weights after a 30 minute TRX class of squats and lunges yesterday so I was pretty pleased with the pace! I’m keeping up the once/week TRX class because let’s face it, there is no way I’m doing a half-hour of legs and arms strengthening on my own. I need someone to force me into it.

You better believe I treated myself to a Grande Skinny Vanilla Latte on my way home.

And made a better-than-McDonalds (personally, I’ve never seen the appeal of McDonalds breakfasts – I know I’m in the minority) Sausage McMuffin!

Heavenly.

  • 100% Whole Wheat English Muffin
  • 2 Egg Whites, 1 Yolk, scrambled with a splash of 1% Milk and a pinch of mozzarella cheese (microwaved for 2 minutes)
  • TJ’s Sun Dried Tomato Sausage
  • Goat Cheese on the English Muffin

I inhaled it in less than 4 seconds when I arrived to work. Delicious, filling and packed with protein.

Time to finish off the work day!

  1. There are times I just love running up a huge hill! I will often throw my hands up in the air like Rocky when I reach the top because it takes such focus and concentration.

Definitely don’t see the appeal of McDonald’s- but I used to love their hotcakes!
