Dinner + A Movie

Hope you’re all enjoying the long weekend! There’s something about having Monday off that just feels like you have an extra week off or something.

I love it.

This weekend has been full of delicious food, running, mouth-watering drinks, relaxing, movies, and family time.

I don’t want it to end!

Last night boyfriend and I met up with my parents who had been across the bridge in Marin all day for a delicious dinner at Delarosa.

Delarosa is owned by the same owners as one of my all-time favorite SF restaurants – Beretta.

And is JUST as delicious.

I was so hungry and we were enjoying our food so much that I took zero pictures, but plenty was consumed… including:

  • Swiss chard, chickpea puree, pecorino chips
  • Meatballs in spicy marinara
  • Prosciutto di Parma, arugula, buratta pizza
  • Funghi misti, tomato, fontina, thyme pizza

And obviously, Delarosa’s version of a Moscow Mule… only theirs was made with Agricole Rum, Ginger, Lime, Mint and Soda.

Delicioso!

Post-dinner, my parents headed back to the ‘burbs and boyfriend and I went to see The Debt.

The movie got a 77% on Rotten Tomatoes and was so, so, so good. I LOVE thrillers and this one did not disappoint.

A must see!

The espionage thriller begins in 1997, as shocking news reaches retired Mossad secret agents Rachel (Helen Mirren) and Stephan (Tom Wilkinson) about their former colleague David (Ciarán Hinds). All three have been venerated for decades by their country because of the mission that they undertook back in 1966, when the trio (portrayed, respectively, by Jessica Chastain, Marton Csokas, and Sam Worthington tracked down Nazi war criminal Vogel (Jesper Christensen) in East Berlin. At great risk, and at considerable personal cost, the team’s mission was accomplished – or was it? The suspense builds in and across two different time periods, with startling action and surprising revelations. Source

I haven’t seen The Help, so I wasn’t privvy to Jessica Chastain yet… but girl can act! Helen Mirren looks fantastic, as always.

**********

We slept in this morning, dinner is slow-cooking away, boyfriend is off on a bikeride, and I’m off to the gym to get some cross-training in (who are we kidding, it’s to read the new Us Weekly, I”m obviously dying to know about Kim Kardashian’s honeymoon) before we do a little shopping later.

Hope you’re having a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!
